You know kids deserve schools where they don’t just survive, but they THRIVE.

It just takes one brave person to change childhoods, but sometimes you need some guidance along the way.

You want to start a micro or hybrid school. But you don’t know where to start.

A strategic plan simply involves taking a purposeful and systematic look at your situation and the players in it - you, your potential families, your vision and mission, and your resources- and then pulling all that information together into a simple list of priorities, action items, and deadlines.

Survey your Market– A simple process will allow you to move forward with confidence that your community will support your program.

Choose your Business Structure – Understand the difference between a nonprofit and an LLC and decide which your program should be.

Find a Facility– Choose a facility that will fit your three year vision if possible. Know what to look for, how to communicate, what to write down, and how to set up.

Assess your SELF – Take an honest look at your own strengths and weaknesses, your heart and vision, and position yourself on a trajectory where you will thrive.

Plan your Budget and Staff – Create a functional planning budget for your year and project to your third year. Take into account all the items from salaries to taxes to insurances. Understand the staffing necessary and plan for success.

Finalize your Strategic Plan– Pull together the information from your families and you (or your team), match it to your vision, budget, and resources: and write a simple list of priorities, action items, and deadlines.

“I wanted to tell you that your business structure video (week 3) was the most helpful 10 minutes ever! Your slides are a perfect outline, you cover everything with fluid ease and confidence even though it is a lot of information to cover, but this is the part of running a micro-school program that was the most mysterious to me. Laying out the differences in the LLC and Non-profit was so well done that I haven't found any better resource on youtube or anything I have looked up yet to date that was so well laid out and easy to understand in such a short 10 minutes! This section is complete GOLD!.”

To Parents and Educators with a Vision,

I never planned to start a hybrid school. But in 2017, like so many parents, I found myself searching for something that didn't exist—a way to give my children both the warmth of home learning and the joy of classroom community. With a baby in my arms and hope in my heart, I gathered a small group of families who shared this dream. We started small: just 20 children in a church building, paying little more than preschool tuition.

Today, that tiny seed has blossomed into a beautiful garden of learning, with over 200 children and a wonderful team of dedicated teachers. But what moves me most isn't the numbers—it's the sight of children's eyes lighting up as they discover a fascinating book, or watching parents and children learn and grow together.

I believe in my heart that you can create this same magic in your community. Children are only little once, and they deserve to experience the wonder of childhood while receiving an excellent education. If you're feeling that gentle tug in your heart to create something special for the families in your area, I'd love to show you how.
